Bobbie Rachel (Herrin) Broome, age 87, of Hattiesburg, MS, passed away on Sunday, June 27,2021. She was born to Travis V. Herrin and Clara Verdee (Baker) Herrin on May 22, 1934, in Claiborne County, MS.

After graduating high school, she continued her education completing two years of college. Bobbie worked as an administrative assistant for the fire chief of Hattiesburg, MS, for many years before retiring.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Franklin E. Broome Sr.; children, Franklin Broome Jr., Beverly Regina Stewart, T.M. Broome (Lynn); sister, Annette French; a host of  grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Loyal Bern Herrin.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Graveside services will follow at Braxton City Cemetery with Bro. Ken Hopkins officiating.

Patrice, wife of Greg Boykin & mother of two sons, Bradley & Alex, is a Magee hometown girl. Patrice is retiring after 25 years in the insurance industry and 23 of those years were with State Farm Insurance in Magee. She is very active in the community serving as Secretary for the Magee Touchdown Club and Vice President of the MS Scholars of Simpson County. Multiple times, Patrice was named Parent of the Year for Magee Schools as well as District Parent of the Year. Patrice & her family are members of New Hope Baptist Church.
