The May 6, 2019 Board of Supervisors meeting was called to order by President Mickey Berry. All supervisors were present.
Bids will be open May 13, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. for Project ERBR-STP/BR-0064(23)B Bridge No. SA6400000000010 Heed Neely Road Bridge per conservation during Simpson County Board of Supervisors meeting, Monday, May 6, 2019.
Mississippi Department of Transportation request each county open separate non-interest bearing accounts for bridge projects that were funded thought MDOT.
The board approved to open three non-interest bearing accounts with Peoples Bank for the Emergency Road and Bridge Repair. The bridges are Star Braxton Road Bridge, New Hebron-Jackson Road Bridge, and Heed Neely Road Bridge.
The board approved a contract with nCourt for an electronic payment system in the jail.
The board approved advertising county resources for $100.00 to promote the Mendenhall High School Golf Team to travel to the State Golf Tournament.
Randal Coleman and Chris Jones were granted permission to attend the Mississippi Constables Association 2019 Annual Conference June 3-8, 2019.
A refund of $23.33 from the Solid Waste Fund was granted to Jean Barnes of 5330 Simpson Hwy 49, Braxton, MS due to the closed account with no one living at 5326 Simpson Hwy 49, Braxton, MS.
Road Manager, Ben Warren, advised if anyone had complaints please contact him directly. Warren will be glad to answer any questions or concerns the citizens might have concerning roads and operation.
The board approved to publish moving Magee 4 south polling place from the Community Center to the Magee Civic Center. The polling places are located next door to each other.
Sheriff Reynolds was granted approval for Edward Hartwig to increase pay from Corporal to Sergeants. Approval was given for Kenneth Miller to receive a pay increase to Corporal status. Approval was granted for Wayne Snell a pay decrease from Corporal to Sergeants pay. Approval was given for Kimberly Walker to be hired as a part-time non-certified employee. Approval was granted to hire Adrain Durr as a full-time certified employee.
No further business, the meeting was recessed until May 15, 2019.
