Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Monday, November 16, 2020 for their regular scheduled meting.
John Killpatrick, EMC, advised the board that the CARES ACT paperwork has been completed and is in the final phases. The county had a totoal of 1181 911 calls from October 15 – November 15, 2020. The numbers are down from this time last year at 1381. Seven new 911 address were created this past month.
A total of four structure fire calls were reported. The calls were to the following locations:
- SCR 503
- Barney Banks Road
- Braswell Road
- McLaurin Drive.
ASAP reported 281 “911” calls. The average response time is 13:29. There were 175 transported calls from the 911 office and 77 were transported out of county. Killpatrick reported cases are increasing more than normal, but the county was in good shape with supplies needed.
Sheriff Paul Mullins was granted approval for the following request:
- Tiffany Rutland was moved from non-certified dispatcher to certified
- Tiffany Sims moved to detention officer from dispatcher
- Anthony Dampeer moved from night supervisor to dayshift corporal
- Marcus James moved rom night sift corporal to full-time certified night shift supervisor
- Adrian Durr was approved to attend MLEOTA class January 10 – March 4, 2020 at a cost of $3,600.00
The board approved to add additional hours of training for election workers as allowed by Section 23-15-239 of the Miss. Code. Workers will now receive 4 hours of training versus the 2 previous hours that was allotted.
Approval was granted for the annual appropriations of $25,000 to each volunteer fire department from the county fire fund in accordance with the fire services agreement.
