The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Job 1:21: “Naked came I from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the Name of the Lord be praised.” Poor Job was a realist in every sense of the word. He knew God loved him, but he didn’t understand why he was singled out for such grave loss and suffering. Still, in it all and through it all, he viewed himself as still being within God’s care and keeping. Job knew he came into the world with nothing and would leave it in the same way. Despite his great and overwhelming losses, he could still boldly say, “Blessed be the Name of the Lord.” Should we not do the same if we are followers of Christ Jesus? Amen!

Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.
