During the month of February, students at the Simpson County Technical Center spent time learning
about influential African-Americans who made important contributions to their program of study. On
February 21 st , a team of judges came to our campus to view and score class poster projects. Our 1 st place
winning class was Healthcare & Clinical Services – 1 st Block. Our 2 nd place winning class was Health
Information Technology –2 nd block. Thank you to all of our students and teachers who participated. Also,
we would like to thank our judges, Rev. Ralph Walker, SCSD School Board President; Misty Hanna,
SCSD Director of Federal Programs and Testing; Jeffrey Walker, SCSD Director of Maintenance and
Safety; and Kimberly Smith & LaSonya Lofton, SCSD Office of Child Nutrition & Wellness.
