Billy Wade Evans, age 72, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born to Reggie Dale Evans and Mavis (Jones) Evans on February 8, 1949, in Prentiss, Mississippi.
In his earlier years, he served in the MS Army National Guard. Before retiring, he worked for Colonial Bakery for twenty-six years and was self-employed with Sanderson Farms for eighteen years. Billy was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic. He had an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with others. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Mary Alice (White) Evans; son, Brian Evans, Daniel Evans (Michelle); daughter, Kayla Evans; sisters, Janice Gatewood (James), Rita Cliburn (Mansil); eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy Evans and sister-in-law, Linda Evans.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Mt. Olive. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Lane Varner and Bro. Mark Robinson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 731, Magee, MS 39111 or Overflow Church, 222 Railroad Dr. SE, Magee, MS 39111.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
