Billy Gerald Gregory, 81 of Magee, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on Friday, February 21, 1941, in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church. The burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Reverend Michael Ahlberg will officiate. Special music will be provided by Miss Kayla Rogers. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mr. Billy was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church. He served his church for over thirty years as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a man that never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time visiting with his friends at Ward’s and Zip’s but, most of all he enjoyed the time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. “Dub” Gregory; mother, Helen Ivy Gregory; and brother, Jerry Gregory.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Jeanette Maddox Gregory of Magee, MS; two sons, Johnny Gregory (Jeanie) of Mendenhall, MS and Wesley Gregory (Lanie) of Ruston, LA; two daughters, Angie Gregory Rogers (David) of Magee, MS and Stephanie Gregory of Norwalk, CT; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Neil Rogers, Tucker Rogers, Brian Barnard, Danny Hayman, Charles Baldwin, and Matt Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will be The Ward’s Coffee Club.
