Billy Bryant Robinson, 76, of Magee, MS died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home in the Shady Grove community in Smith County. He was born Monday, October 2, 1939 in Smith County, MS.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church in the Shady Grove community. Burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, MS. Bro. Rudy Jackson and Dan Henry, will officiate. Ferrell Clark and Tara Walker Smith will speak. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601)849-5031
Billy Robinson was well known on the CB radio as “Grasshopper”. He was a long time employee of McCarty Enterprise of Magee and the Russell Company in Jackson. He also owned Bill’s Jiffy Mart in Magee, MS. Through the years, he made many friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandson, Christopher Robinson.
Mr. Robinson is preceded in death by his father – Carl Houston Robinson, his mother – Clemmie Robinson, and three brothers – Olen C. Robinson, Carl Udell Robinson, and Thomas Leon Robinson.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Vera L. Robinson, his son – David Bryant Robinson and, his grandson- Christopher David Robinson of Miami Lakes, FL. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Ferrell Clark, Tim Jordan, Chaz Kennedy, Jason Runnels, Keah Robinson, and Bruce Lewis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lynn Lewis, Ken Looney, Jared Mullins, Jimmy Carl Robinson, Terrell Luckey, Stanley Sullivan, Joseph White, Landon White, Jamie Robinson, and Burney Luckey.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Shady Grove Community.
