Mt. Olive, MS

Billie Jean O’Neil, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was born on September 6, 1934, to Warren Solomon and Maxie Graves White. She lived in the New Hope community and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Billie’s favorites times revolved around family and the kitchen table. She was welcoming to anyone that entered her home and made sure that no one left hungry.  She especially loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren stop by for treats.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all that loved her.

She is survived by her children, Kenny O’Neil (Kathy), Linda Bennett (Bill), Debbie Cockrell (James) and Pam Warren; brothers, Ray White (Quida Sue) and Jackie White; sisters, Lou Alred, Carolyn Bush (William), Mary Alice Evans (Billy); thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lesley O’Neil; brothers, Jerry White, Archie White; sisters, Donnie Thornton, Bobbie Kukor; grandchildren, John Goodin, Jennifer Craft and great-grandson Heath O’Neil Frye.

Visitation will be held at New Hope Church in Mt. Olive on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following in the church cemetery. Interment will follow.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
