Magee Trojans won a district game against defending State 3A Baseball Champions, St. Andrew, by a score of 12-10. This moves the Trojans record to 19-3. Magee’s game came down to a nail bitter in the 7th inning. Going into the bottom of the 7th Magee had a lead of 12-4. St. Andrews scored 6 runs before the end of regulations to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.
St. Andrews took the lead 4-1 after one inning of play. Magee would not take long to answer scoring 4 runs in the 3rd inning, 1 run in the 4th and 5th, 2 in the 6th, and 3 in the 7th.
Timon Kennedy toed the rubber for the Trojans. Kennedy pitched six complete innings allowing 11 hits and six runs, striking out four and walking one.
Trojans with multiple hits were Kennedy, Brennan McNair, Zack Teater, Seth Russell, and Chandler Pittman.
Trojans will face St. Andrews at home Friday night. This game will determine the district champs. If Magee wins they will be district champs. St Andrews will have to win and win by three runs to be district champs. With that said, a lot is riding on this one game. Magee needs all fans and supporters to come out and support the guys on the diamond.
JV plays at 4:30 and Varsity at 6:30.
