The newly renovated historical City of Magee Community House was the location for the Bicentennial prayer breakfast on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. A special invitation was extended to retired teachers of Simpson County.
Entering to the lively and heartfelt music by Jane Griffith, provided the perfect backdrop for visiting and prayer. Bicentennial board member Linda Bennett oversaw the breakfast food preparing her famous “melt in your mouth” biscuits.
Havard McDonald led in prayer.
Coach Earnest Jaynes gave a very informative talk on the importance of reclaiming the McLaurin Attendance buildings. He challenged everyone to reach out to others and help our fellowman. Coach Jaynes was the principal for many of the teachers present.

Darnell Moffett, the main speaker, encouraged making the impossible-possible. “We cannot fix everything by ourselves—we must pray for the plan,” explained Mr. Moffett.

The Magee Elementary Show Choir entertained the crowd with song and dance!

Following the breakfast, “a lot of visiting took place.”
The next Bicentennial event is a Book Signing and Art Show at the Ural Everett Park on Main Street for 11 AM-4 PM. Box lunches will be available for purchase.
