Jackson, Miss.—The Bicentennial edition of the Blue Book (2016-2020), the State’s Official and Statistical Register, is hot off the presses and ready for distribution.

The first 59 pages of the 812-page publication include a brief history of Mississippi’s 1817 beginnings to the present date. These pages also tout the State’s unique creative culture, educational innovations, economic achievements, and bright future. Twenty-nine businesses, 41 business leaders, and other notable members of various communities across the State including sports legends, and world-renowned artists and authors, are featured in this section.

“Mississippi has come so far in its first 200 years. The faces lining the introductory pages of the Blue Book illustrate our resilience, growth, and progress,” Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said.

This is Secretary Hosemann’s third Blue Book since his initial election in 2007.

Like past editions, the most recent Blue Book includes information on state and county officials, government agencies, boards and commissions, and election returns. A version of the Blue Book has been published in Mississippi since at least the early 1900s, according to records at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and the Library Commission.

Maris, West & Baker (Jackson) assisted in designing the 2016-2020 Blue Book, and Hederman Brothers (Gluckstadt) printed the publication. Both are Mississippi companies.

The digital version of the Blue Book, which is updated regularly, is available on the Secretary of State’s website. For more information or to view other Secretary of State publications, visit the Education & Publications Division’s website, call (601) 359-6344, or e-mail bluebook@sos.ms.gov.
