The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Luke 12:15: “He said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of his possessions.'” We are told throughout the BIBLE that the love of money is the root of all evil. Having money isn’t the problem, but relying on it and striving for the acquisition of it are. We must be cautious and constantly on guard so we do not allow someone or something to usurp God’s role of supremacy in our lives. The early Christians faced this very real problem just as we do today. God will provide, but he blesses the ones who work to make an honest living. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God!
