Barbara Opel Owens 85, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2024 her home in   Braxton, MS. She was born Sunday January 29, 1939 in Terry, MS

 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Braxton, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gum Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Old Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Glenn Jennings and Bro. Chuck Morgan will officiate. Special music will be performed by Jeff Wedgeworth, Minnie Holloway, and Cindy Jennings. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Owens;  father, George  Pink Barker;  mother, Mallisa Catherine White Barker;  two grandchildren;  three sisters;  one Son-In-law; one Daughter-In-Law.

 Survivors include her sons, Robert Hedgepeth and Mickey Hedgepeth (Jodie); daughters, Sue Parish  (David) and Margie Byrd (Buddy);  eight grandchildren;  sisters, Georgia Cruz (Tito), Vivian Pace and Carolyn Strickrodt (Jack);  twenty-four great- grandchildren;  Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 Pallbearers will be James Robert Hedgepeth, Daniel Rushing, Caleb Harper, Patrick Byrd, Joey Hedgepeth, and Dylan Harper.

 Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Brown and Dean Barnard
