Oxford resident Charlie Spillers and 1963 Magee High School graduate spent a decade of his early career as an undercover agent for the MS Bureau of Narcotics, reveals years of candid encounters in “Confessions of an Undercover Agent” published by University Press of Mississippi.
Charlie will be in Magee on Saturday, May 7th at the Magee Civic Center from 2-4 signing copies of his book as well as reading from the book at 2:30.
I was privileged to interview Charlie Tuesday at the University Press of Mississippi office in Jackson. Charlie is a knowledge, thrill seeking, adrenaline pumping guy who has lived on the dark side of life making our lives safer.
His book, “Confessions of an Undercover Agent: Adventures, Close Calls, and the Toll of a Double Life,” is a “don’t want to put down”…”I can’t believe you did this”…how did you survive…type of book. When I received my copy just after the release date, I really wasn’t ready for the words that flowed between the pages. How could anyone survive this type of life…how could anyone live this life…and how in the world do you keep a wife?…were just a few of the questions in my mind.
The interview with Charlie is long…but worth the listen. His experiences and the ability to share with not only the reader but the public is astounding. His ability to grasp the world of undercover and share those experiences is amazing.
We’ll be hearing more from Charlie Spillers as he has 2 books in the works….and I can’t wait.
See you Saturday at the Magee Civic Center!
