Attorney Megan Thornton Sworn-in as Magee’s City Judge

Following the resignation of Judge Reggie Blackledge, the City of Magee, under the direction of Mayor Dale Berry, swore-in Megan Stuard Thornton as the new city judge.

Mr. Blackledge accepted a position with the District Attorney’s office.

Mrs. Thornton will serve May and June.  The newly elected board will fill the position at the first meeting of the board in July when all employees are rehired or dismissed.

Megan is a Magee girl having lived in the area most of her life.  She recently opened a practice on Main Street across from City Hall. (Stuard Thornton).

Megan is married to Michael Thornton and mother to 4 children:  Kaylee, Ann Sullivan, Charlie, and Larkin.

She is the daughter of Dr. Jimmy and Rosemary Stuard of Magee and Greg and Lori Shelton of Pearl, Mississippi.
