Lackey Memorial Hospital of Forest was approved by the Federal Court System to purchase  Pioneer Health Services. Ascentium Healthcare Resources will sign the papers on December 31, 2017 and will open for business on January 2, 2018.
Sydney Sawyer is the chief executive officer for Lackey Hospital .The cash bid for the assets were $175.00, new contracts and additional vendors.

The company will move  to the original Pioneer building in Magee which is owned by Trustmark and being leased by Lackey. Sawyer says that plans are for Ascentium to be able to purchase the building from Trustmark.
Lackey is a 25 bed critical access facility.

According to Sawyer the estimated payroll is approximately $2.4 million annually.
