He enjoyed being a farmer.  He spent his life tending to crops, cows, and chickens.  He was a grower for McCarty Farms.  However, he found great fulfillment being a Rural Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, L C McAlpin and Bill McAlpin; and his sisters, Novis Jones and Bonnie Bill Womack.  He is survived by his sisters, Nevis Womack and Bettie Jean Ratliff, along with his wife, his three children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.

He lived his life for Christ. He loved people and put them ahead of himself. His memory will always be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His services will be held Friday, July 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Magee, Mississippi.  Visitation will be conducted in the sanctuary at 12:00 PM and followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM.  Graveside service will be held at Sharon Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to Blair E Batson Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
