On August 18th, the U.S. Marshals made an arrest in connection to the shooting death of a Panola County woman on July 26, 2025. The Marshals arrested Cortrell Motley, 36, on a Mississippi Bureau of Investigation warrant for 1st degree murder.
The arrest was in reference to the July 26, 2025, shooting on Mississippi Highway 3 in which 41-year-old Amanda Liston was killed. Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol originally responded to the call concerning a vehicle crash and discovered the driver, Liston, had gunshot wounds. No further comment will be made at this time.
