I always enjoy hearing what “goes on” at my grandchildren’s schools. I am amazed at the great ideas that come out of the school systems now.
My youngest granddaughter, Harleigh, attends St James in Montgomery, AL. The class has a mystery reader each week. The children have no idea who will be reading to them on that day.
Luckey Harleigh and Breck! Harleigh’s teacher ask her dad Breck, my son, to be the Mystery Reader.
Breck said he could hear the teacher in the room telling the children to be happy no matter who came! (I guess everyone wants their mother or daddy!)
When Breck entered the room, Harleigh just squealed when she saw her daddy! She got to sit in a chair next to Breck which meant eventually she landed in his lab.
I reminded Breck to treasure these days when your daddy is the most important man in the world. Remember how those sweet eyes looked at you…complete love!
We may not be the Mystery Reader to our grandchildren or children…but there is always a child who wants to share your love. Look around…be the Mystery Reader to someone special.
Harleigh is in K4 at her school.
