The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced that applications for the Pelahatchie Bay Alligator Season will open on Monday, February 2, and close on Friday, February 13.
All applications received during this period will be entered into a random drawing for available permits for the season.
Unlike the regular alligator hunting season, the Pelahatchie Bay Alligator Season requires two applicants per permit. Both individuals must complete the application, and if selected, they are required to hunt together as part of the same hunting party.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be Mississippi residents and at least 16 years of age at the time of application. Nonresidents who hold a Mississippi Lifetime License are also eligible to apply.
Additional information regarding the application process, permit drawing, and season details can be found on the MDWFP website.
