Applications being accepted for Co-Lin’s Taylor Presidential Scholarship

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Taylor Presidential Scholarship. The scholarship will provide a $7,500 scholarship to a freshman student planning to attend Co-Lin’s Wesson Campus, Natchez Campus or Simpson County Center.

“The Taylor Presidential Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship offered at Co-Lin,” said President Dr. Jane Hulon. “The Taylors have been so generous to Co-Lin, and we are so appreciative to them for allowing us to offer this scholarship to deserving students.”

Application materials are available at the Co-Lin Counseling Center on the Wesson Campus, Office of the Vice President at the Natchez Campus and Simpson County Center, and your high school counselor’s office. The application is also available online at https://www.colin.edu/students/financial-aid-and-scholarships/scholarships/

The deadline for all application materials is February 1, 2020. All scholarship applications should be mailed to the Dr. Jane Hulon, President, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, at P.O. Box 649, Wesson, MS 39191. A selection committee appointed by the president will screen applicants and conduct interviews.

Criteria that will be considered in the selection process includes high school and/or college grade point average, ACT/SAT score, difficulty level of courses taken in high school, financial need, leadership roles and involvement in activities at the high school level, a minimum 500 word essay typed and double spaced, other abilities, special talents, honors, awards, recognitions received, community service activities and an interview.
