Anne Magee Amason
Anne Magee Amason departed this life April 11, 2022. Anne was born to Robert and Jane Magee of Magee on November 1, 1948, and she grew up in Magee.
Anne was a graduate of Magee High School and attended The University of Southern Mississippi. On August 10, 1969, she married her sweetheart, Gene Ware Amason of Harrisville. Gene was a businessman, working with hospitals in South Carolina and Florida. Anne worked in sales for Charisma Life while in Orlando as well. In 1993, the Amasons accepted the call of God to return to Magee, Mississippi to plant Church Alive. Anne was a vital part of this ministry, and her strengths were loving and encouraging people. She especially enjoyed one-on-one ministry with women.
Anne is survived by her two children, Angela Joy Kjellstrom (Kurt) and Gene Ware Amason II (Regina); five grandchildren, Kiley Bree Kjellstrom, Macy-Kate Kjellstrom, Finley Joy Kjellstrom, Cash Gates Amason and Audrey Joy Amason; her brothers, Bobby Magee (Brenda), David Magee (Connie, deceased) and Mark Magee (Gayle); sister, Mona Williamson (Larry); many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alisha Anne Amason; husband, Gene Ware Amason; father, Robert S. Magee; mother, Jane L. Magee; father-in-law, Rufus Odell Amason; and mother-in-law, Verna Jewel Amason.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Anne practically demonstrated Christ’s love for people each day. Her love for others extended beyond their background or circumstances, providing a source of comfort and encouragement when people were at their lowest.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 9:30-11:00am at Church Alive in Magee. Her funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00am with interment to follow at Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Church Alive in memory of Anne.
