Ance Grubbs went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was eighty-eight years of age, born August 24, 1933, in Magee, MS. to Henry and Mildred (Magee) Grubbs.

He graduated from Magee High School in1952 and was in the US Army for two years, 1955 to 1957. Ance was a Master Electrician and was employed with Magee General Hospital for twenty-four years as Supervisor of Maintenance. He made Christmas ornaments and bracelets for many years, giving them away to anyone who wanted them. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of Jimmy Holbrook’s Sunday School class. He had been unable to attend for several years because of his health.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mildred Grubbs and his sister Sarah Grubbs Magee.

He is survived by his wife of sixty- three years, Donteal Grubbs; sons, Darrel Grubbs (Cecilia), Tom Grubbs; daughters, Donna Hunt (Phil), Carolyn Grubbs; granddaughters, Lindsey Hunt Dent (Rob), Lexie Hunt McLendon (John), Sara Grubbs, Samantha Grubbs Cockrell (Cade), Memorie Sanford (Brett), Regan Byrd; grandsons, Jonathan Grubbs and Jasper Page; great-granddaughters, Ellie Starling, Alex McLendon, Millie Dent, and Brylee Page; great-grandsons, John William McLendon, Jaxson Sumrall, Wyatt Sanford, and Noah Byrd.

Graveside service will be Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10:00 am with burial following at Coat Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
