Ance “Ancie” Odell Hawkins, 79, of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home.  He was born Tuesday, March 10, 1942, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Visitation will be at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on June 10, 2021.  Graveside funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi, with Dr. Frankie Clark officiating.

Mr. Hawkins was a member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville, Mississippi.  He was a graduate of Taylorsville High School, attended Jones County Junior College and was a former member of the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Hamasa Shriners.  His focus of providing for his family was paramount to him which enabled each of his children achieve their desired educational successes.  He was a consummate giver whom always held an open hand out to those in need.  He dedicated much of his time to mentoring others so that they could provide for their families.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Gather Odell; mother, Grace Helen; and brothers, Al, Joe Allen and Bill Keys Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Hawkins; daughters, Mary Jane Young and husband Forrest, Leanne Graham and husband Rick; sons, Ance, Brian and wife Nikki Hawkins.  He loved all of his grandchildren:  Abby, Maddie, Parker, Makenzie, Owen, Olivia, Emily, Garrett, Avery and Ella.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Honorary Pallbearers are his retired friends from the trucking community.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville (P.O. Box 357 Taylorsville, MS 39168), Fellowship Cemetery (P.O. Box 173, Taylorsville 39168) or Shriners Hamasa Transportation Fund (P.O. Box 365, Meridian, MS 39302).  Special thanks goes to Deaconess Hospice.
