Amelia Jones passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 25, 1944, to Clarence Jones and Venus Howell Jones in Mize, MS.
She was a beautician all of her career. She enjoyed working at what she loved and making lifelong and lasting friendships. She loved playing Rook and being with her family and friends. She and her best friend, Merle, who called themselves Thelma and Louise, enjoyed all the adventures they went on. She adored her cats and taking care of them. They were her babies, making sure they were fed before herself. She had a smile that would light up the room.
Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Venus Howell Jones; brothers, Gale Jones and Horace Jones; and one sister, Emily Jones Manning.
She leaves behind her nephew, Ron Jones, and niece, Holly Johnson; great nieces, Sommer Johnson and Madison Scott (Ian); and a host of family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Jones Cemetery, 11296 MS-35, Mize, MS. Bro. Tony Keys will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
