Alpha Company, 106th Brigade Support Battalion

CPT Eric Williams is a native of Magee, Mississippi.  He enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard on June 6th, 2013 with the 155th Headquarters & Headquarters Company, as a 25U Signal Support Specialist.  After advancing to the rank of Sergeant, he enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at University of Southern Mississippi and was commissioned to National Guard as an Adjunct General Second Lieutenant in October 2018.

Upon commissioning, 2LT Williams’s first assignment was as Personnel Management Officer, 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command.  In May 2018, he attended the Saber Strike Exercise as the Officer in Charge of personnel providing assistant and support to 1,500 NATO and American troops of executing missions in Poland. In November 2018, CPT Williams served as the G-1 Personnel Accountability Strength Report Officer-In-Charge and the Deputy G-1 to the 1st Theater Support Command, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and G-1 Human Resource Officer to the 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command. In March 2020, CPT Williams served as the Administrator Officer for the COVID-19 Task Force to help the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard, FEMA, and MEMA with logistics and support planning. CPT Williams previous served as the S1 Personnel Staff Officer, Master Resilience Trainer, and the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Officer to the 106th Brigade Support Battalion Headquarters based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

CPT Williams is a graduate of Adjunct General Basic Officer Leadership Course, Captain Career Course, and Finance & Comptroller Course, Fort Jackson, South Carolina,. He is a graduate of William Carey University with a Bachelor’s and double Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences and Healthcare Administration. CPT Williams is also working on his Ph. D in Business Administration at the Belhaven University with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.

CPT Williams’s military awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal x3, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Reserve Component Overseas Training, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Expeditionary Service Medal, Mississippi Longevity Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M device, Armed Forces Service Medal, Mississippi Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Metal, Mississippi Emergency Medal, and Mississippi War Medal.

CPT Williams currently resides in Magee, MS as the new commander of Alpha Company, 106th Brigade Support Battalion. His change of command ceremony will be held at the Magee armory on January 30 at 10:00am. Friends and family are welcome to attend. RSVP contact information will be SFC Harrell at 601-849-3642.
