Alone time with God!

Matthew 6:6 (KJV)But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Let’s Share the Love of God. by James Davis

Create in me a pure heart

August 31, 2026

I’ve learned that time alone with God is not only a time to pray and pour out what I need but a time to talk to Him much like with a best friend! It’s a time to grow and develop a deeper relationship with Him. It’s a time to really get to know God! It’s a time to be quiet and listen for what God wants to speak to me!

There was a time that I had an average 6 minute prayer that consisted of pretty much the same lines! I could feel better about myself because I had prayed! But because of spiritual maturity and a series of life’s struggles and hardships, I’ve learned to take time and spend time alone with God! That includes prayer, Bible study, devotions and time just thinking and reflecting on Gods presence, His creation and gifts He gives everyday!

I believe Scripture teaches us to spend time alone with God! In Matthew 6:6 it tells us to go into our closet and pray! I believe this is affirming (teaching) that alone time with God is important! It can be hard to set aside alone time but I encourage you to make time for God! I encourage you to get to know God and above all, I encourage you to be still, be quiet and listen! God has a lot to share! Take time today to be alone with God!
