WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln freshman forward Kelley Allen has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week. Allen averaged 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game in a 3-0 week for the Lady Wolves. She scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 71-48 win over East Mississippi in the MACJC Quarterfinals. Allen tied a season high with 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (eight offensive) in a 76-68 win over Jones County in the MACJC Semifinals. She scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds, and blocked three shots in a 78-60 win over Meridian in the MACJC Finals for the 26-0 Lady Wolves. Allen is the second consecutive Lady Wolf to be named player of the week following freshman guard Alexis Collins who garnered the award last week. Allen will now be nominated for the national player of the week that is awarded on Thursday. No. 16 Co-Lin will take on Holmes at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 at Mississippi College in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament.
