Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, April 4, 2023 for their regular scheduled meeting.

All board members, mayor, and attorney were present.

Mayor Dale Berry advised MDOT engineer Albert White met with the Lions Club in Magee and informed the Lions Club a new red light will be placed on the south end of town on Highway 49 in the future. The light will be located near the Shell Station. The intersection at Siloam Road will be closed just as several other intersections have been closed in the city.  Vehicles traveling north can make a left turn unto Siloam Road. Any vehicle on Siloam Road wanting to go north will  travel south to a newly installed red light at the Shell gas station to turn left. The decision was not made by the city but by MDOT.   MDOT has performed numerous safety studies before arriving at this decision.
