ADMINISTRATORS COMPLETE MSBA PROSPECTIVE SUPERINTENDENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Clinton, Miss. ‐‐‐The Mississippi School Boards Association recently advanced its’ third class from the Prospective Superintendent Leadership Academy. This class is designed to educate and prepare potential candidates for the challenging position of being a superintendent in Mississippi’s public schools. “This training has assisted several administrators in becoming superintendents as well as
receiving promotions at the district level,” said Denotris Jackson, Assistant Executive Director of the Mississippi School Boards Association. Participants receive training from veteran superintendents and educators; totaling more than 40 hours of intensive training in the major areas of the superintendent’s role. “Effective superintendents understand their role, the role of the school board, and how the leadership team works together to positively impact the children in their district,” said Michael W. Waldrop, PhD., Executive Director, Mississippi School Boards Association. “Our goal is to provide the proper resources and training to equip our participants for the road ahead.”
The Mississippi School Boards Association (MSBA) is a professional, nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure quality school board performance through Advocacy, Leadership Training, Technical Assistance and Information Dissemination. MSBA represents all public school boards of education in the State of Mississippi
