Located at 489 Wilson Floyd in Magee, Mississippi, the home of Scott and Sherrie Hubbard is a place anyone would love to come home to! The warmth, the coziness, and the casual elegance of the home welcomes any visitor. The Christmas tour of the Hubbard home is brought to you by Trustmark National Bank in Magee.
Sherrie and Scott have lived in their home for many years and made many changes. Sherrie probably doesn’t give herself credit for her talent in painting and refinishing furniture and cabinets. Everywhere I turned there was something “Sherrie” had done. She is one talented lady with impeccable taste. Her use of nature’s decorations gave an outdoor feel to the indoor rooms.
Paxton, the Hubbard Weimaraner, is quite attentive to his master. Sherrie and Scott are well taken care of when Paxton is around!
Many pieces in the Hubbard home are family heirlooms and tell the love story of two young people who have “grown up” together. The Hubbard’s have two children. Candice McAlpin and Brandon Hubbard plus four precious grandchildren who spend a lot of time in their home.
Sherrie laughingly tells if she had a decorating problem, she just figures it out! I can tell you this, she has no problems. Each ornament, decoration, and piece of furniture in their home has a story.
When Scott came back from Iraq , he built an outdoor kitchen complete with seating space and hot tub. Their home is ideally suited for the kitchen which is just a few feet off their back porch. One of the trees at the outdoor room is a patriotic tree decorated with stars that have the name of one of the servicemen in Scott’s battalion who were unable to attend their annual Christmas party plus small flags. Sherrie and Scott have been entertaining the “troops” for several years. The first Friday in December finds their house filled with about seventy people celebrating friendships that last a lifetime.
I love Sherrie and Scott! I’ve known them for many years, but, I had not visited their home. What a treat to see all the things I had heard Sherrie could do and does do! Scott is also one talented man! The outdoor kitchen is fabulous. Don’t let him fool you, he can do as much as Sherrie does only in a different way!

Hubbard’s Loop
As we were leaving the outdoor kitchen area, I saw a sign that said : “Hubbard’s loop.”
Sherrie explained that while in Iraq, Scott had his troops running in the same area…over and over. Soon, the guys made a sign and posted “Hubbard’s Loop.” Scott brought that sign home with him and keeps it visible for himself and others. Thank God for men like Scott who serve our country.
Thank you to Trustmark National Bank for making this Christmas tour of the Hubbard home possible.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy the video
