A Vision for Magee: Building a Stronger, More Accountable City

Magee is a city full of untapped potential, and it deserves leadership that combines proven experience with the energy, stamina, and hard work needed for real progress. I’m Mark Grubbs, a lifelong resident and current Alderman of Ward 1, and I’m running for Mayor because I believe our community deserves a fresh, dynamic approach—one that tackles challenges head on with vigor and determination.

My vision is built on three simple pillars: efficiency, accountability, and progress. With a tireless work ethic and a commitment to doing what’s necessary—even when it means rolling up my sleeves and working long hours—I’m ready to lead Magee into a brighter future. Here’s how we’ll get there:

  1. A Government That Works for the People

Effective governance is about attention to the little things. I believe in the motto, “Take care of the small things, and the bigger things will most always take care of themselves.”

  • Efficiency and Transparency: Every decision, from fixing a pothole to addressing a resident’s concern, will be made with precision and care.
  • Engaged Leadership: By ensuring that every department is coordinated and accountable, we’ll eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and make sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
  • Hard Work at Every Level: True progress happens when leadership is not afraid to put in the long hours and tackle even the smallest issues with commitment.

  1. Investing in Our Roads and Parks

Magee should be a city that inspires pride—a place where residents feel safe and communities flourish.

  • Well-Maintained Infrastructure: Our roads, parks, and public spaces are the backbone of a thriving community. I plan to invest in these essentials so that Magee is a place where families can live, work, and play.
  • Community Pride: A city that looks after its public spaces attracts new businesses, boosts property values, and creates a more vibrant, welcoming environment for everyone.

  1. Smart Spending on Public Safety

Public safety is one of our largest investments, and every dollar must count.

  • Effective Resource Management: Our police and fire departments must operate at peak efficiency. This means negotiating tough deals to get the best value for our money while keeping our community safe.
  • Stamina and Dedication: With the relentless work ethic that defines my approach, I’m prepared to ensure that our safety measures reflect both fiscal responsibility and an unwavering commitment to protecting Magee.

  1. Supporting Small Businesses, Strengthening Magee

Small businesses are the heart of our local economy, driving job growth and community success.

  • Cutting Red Tape: I will work to eliminate unnecessary regulations that hinder the growth of small businesses, ensuring that Magee is a business-friendly environment.
  • Detailed Review: By carefully examining each ordinance and regulation, we’ll remove outdated policies and create a more streamlined system that supports entrepreneurship.
  • A Foundation for Success: When small businesses thrive, the entire city benefits. This is a cornerstone of my plan for a robust, dynamic Magee.

Time for Action

This isn’t just a vision—it’s a plan for action. Magee has incredible potential, but unlocking it requires leadership that is up to the challenge. I bring the stamina, drive, and hard work necessary to tear down barriers and drive meaningful change. The challenges of today demand a leader who isn’t just experienced, but also energetic and resilient.

It’s time for a change. Let’s move Magee forward—together.
