I received devastating news today…Kyle Wallace died Wednesday morning, August 17th while playing kickball with the kids at PE…he died doing what he loved the most…playing with kids.
Kyle is a 1998 graduate of Simpson Academy was 36 years old. He as a member of the MSU football team where he played on the offensive line. …and a coach at Yazoo City High School.
Kyle graduated with my son Breck….and let me tell you….everyone loved Kyle. I remember so well before a big SCA game, Kyle allowed the team to shave his head while sitting in my front yard! He always had a smile…unless you were across the line from him! He was truly a gentle giant.
Kyle’s mother, Cynthia, is a former choir director at the First United Church in Magee. His sister, Casey, is a 1992 graduate of Simpson Academy (she and my oldest son Dickey were classmates. The middle man, Brock, was tough as Kyle. Kyle’ s dad, Bruce died as a young man but I do not remember his age. Bruce and I believe Price Wallace had Wallace Tractor Company for several years in Mendenhall.
Kyle was an outstanding coach at Manchester Academy.
He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
I’m sorry, ya’ll…I just can’t write much. My heart is broken…and I can’t even wrap my head around the words that need to be written.
I will post additional information…but right now…all I can do is cry…Kyle was my friend…and I loved him.
Cynthia taught my daughter to play the piano. Bruce’s parents and now also Price’s land connects to ours and yes they owned Wallace Tractor. We consider them family and this comes as an terrible heart break for us. Our prayers go out to the family.

This breaks my heart. After years of no communication, I reunited with Kyle via Facebook just a few months ago. It’s so sad to see an old friend pass at such a young age. I remember Kyle well from our youth. I was just telling a friend in Booneville a few days ago about how our highschool football composite picture looked so weird with Kyle towering above everyone else in the center of the picture. Go with God old friend. You will be missed
Our daughter is a student at Bentonia Gibbs, she called us today and ask us to hurry home from work because we needed to pray for Coach Wallace’s daughter, who she takes ballet with. We loved Coach Wallace, he always had a smile and seemed to never meet a stranger. We are praying peace and comfort for his family. God bless you.
The world lost a lot of personality this morning…he will be missed.
May his family find Peace and Understanding in Gods plan for their loved one Kyle. May you find comfort in one another.
