JACKSON, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Athletic Department is proud to announce 55 student-athletes across seven sports earned Academic All-State honors for their efforts in the classroom during the 2018-2019 seasons. The outstanding effort continues the storied tradition of success as Co-Lin in academic achievement.

“Our coaching staffs always strive for their student-athletes to succeed both on the field and in the classroom,” said Co-Lin Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. “Our student-athletes playing well in their respective sport is very important to us, but our goal is to have these young people be in the best position possible after Co-Lin, whether they choose to continue their athletic careers or not. Our coaching staffs, faculty, and administration have done a great job guiding these student-athletes and we could not be more proud of what they have achieved.”

To earn Academic All-State student-athletes must maintain a 3.25 GPA over the year, while student-athletes with 3.8 and higher earn Distinguished Academic All-State recognition. 23 Co-Lin players earned Distinguished Academic All-State including Swayze Bozeman, Conner Mire, Tristan Mosley, and Landon Murphy, all football players, Bryson Jones, Peyton Miller, Logan Pitts of the golf team, Kyler Fielder, Trey Frierson, Houston Mims, Thomas Slagle, and Ryan Zimmerman of the baseball team, Harmoni Ashley, Amber Brinson, Callie Fortenberry, Katelyn Hayman, Carly Polk, and Markley Poole of the softball team, and Kara Clark, Katy Clark, Ashlynn Lock, Carmen Menicia, Madison Shows, and McKenzie Shows of the women’s team.
