A late-night manhunt spanning two Simpson County cities ended with the arrest of 39-year-old Tony Keyes, who now faces multiple serious felony charges connected to violent incidents reported on November 23 and 24.
According to the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies launched their search after receiving a report that Keyes had assaulted and robbed an elderly woman in the Mendenhall community. The initial call brought investigators to Green Avenue, where they gathered additional information and worked to track Keyes’ movements.
Their investigation led them to Magee. Shortly after 2 a.m. on November 24, deputies found Keyes inside a room at the Western Motel on Highway 49. When officers attempted to make contact, Keyes tried to barricade the door and initially resisted, but deputies were ultimately able to take him into custody without further incident.
Deputies also arrested 26-year-old Arrianna Expose at the motel, alleging she had been harboring a fugitive.
Sheriff’s officials noted that Keyes was also a suspect in a separate November 22 incident in which gasoline was reportedly poured on a female victim.
Following his arrest, Keyes was formally charged with home invasion, armed robbery, kidnapping, and rape. Expose was charged with harboring a fugitive. Both remain in custody pending their initial court appearances. The investigation remains ongoing.
