Bobbie Lou Russell 89, of Plant City, FL, formerly of Magee, MS, passed away peacefully August 17, 2019. Bobbie Lou was born April 10, 1930 in Magee Mississippi. Daughter of a Farmer, she grew up in the cotton fields. She was an athlete and later enjoyed watching her sons play football. She was a fan of the sport. A true Southern Belle, Bobbie Lou loved cooking. She made the best Chicken-n-Dumplings in the South and if you were ever so blessed to get a slice of her Red Velvet or Italian Cream Cake, then you knew perfection. Most days you could find her on a river bank fishing, her absolute favorite thing to do. Bobbie Lou never met a stranger and had a heart of gold.
She is survived by Patsy Parrish (Jamie) of Plant City, FL; Jake Russell (Lynn) of Mendenhall MS; Don Russell of Clinton, MS; Danny Russell (Cheri) of Clinton, MS; Carol Fortenberry (Marlyn) of Columbia, MS; Darrell Russell (Tanya) of Madison MS; Harold Russell (Frances) of Brandon MS.
She leaves behind: Eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Brother: Willie Albert Williamson (Carolyn) of Prentiss MS. Sister: Lena Boykin of Mesquite, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Russell is preceded in death by her parents: Fordie and Martha Jane Williamson; Son: William Russell; Daughter: Peggy Lou Boland; Granddaughter: Melissa Ann Harvey. Sisters: Beulah McCain; Evora Spangler; Mary Sue Jones and Ancie Dameron.
Services will be held August 24 9-11am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee MS with private graveside services to follow at Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery
