Simpson County Technical Center’s Program Feature of the Month – Agriculture and Natural Resources

Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) is proud to expose students to careers as scientists, engineers, farmers and educators in the modern agricultural and natural resources industry.

Through the Agriculture and Natural Resources program, students learn about the basic and fundamental principles of agriculture and natural resources, in addition to the conservation and management of resources; agricultural business management practices; and the environment as it relates to water quality, forestry and wildlife.

Students also receive a variety of hands-on learning experiences to include field trips and gardening. Students will soon help maintain an edible school garden, funded by the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation.

The Agriculture and Natural resources program is instructed by Patricia Braddock.

* SCTC’s agriculture and natural resources students recently visited the Marine Institute for Mammal Studies in Gulfport, Miss.
