Ruby L. Blair, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born on April 14, 1949, to Reuben Timothy Burris and Marilyn Frances Wiltshire in Jackson, MS.
Ruby was very caring and always had an open-door policy at her home. You might be met with this in her hand, and she’d said, “Penny for your thoughts?” She loved her children and grandchildren. She was known for helping kids in any situation. She enjoyed traveling with her son, Miles. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she has always wished for a white Christmas. She enjoyed gardening and growing several types of trees, including dogwood, pecan, and peach. Yellow roses were her favorite flower. Feeding and watching the birds from her window brought her great joy and peace.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Claude Edward Blair; her father, Reuben Burris; mother, Marilyn Frances Burris; her son, Jeff Curtis; brother, Franklin Julius Burris; and son-in-law, Fredrick Padgett.
Ruby is survived by her son, Miles Leritte (Christina); daughters, Julie Leachman and Rachel Padgett; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS, at 2:00 PM, with visitation from noon until service time. Interment will follow in

Hopewell Presbyterian Cemetery in Jefferson Davis County.  MS

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
