Nada Jo Craft Tullos
(4/14/1938 – 2/28/2024)
Nada Jo Craft Tullos, 85 of Raleigh, MS went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at her home in Raleigh. She was born Thursday, April 14, 1938 in Mize, Mississippi. Nada was the daughter of James Eudell and A. Marie (Sullivan) Craft. She attended school at Mize.
Nada was married to the late Eugene C. (Gene) Tullos of Raleigh where they made their home. Nada and Gene were very involved in their church First Baptist of Raleigh as well as civic and other community activities. They were most generous in helping people and contributing to the community far beyond what was known. Nada was a gifted musician, playing piano, organ, harp and even acoustic guitar. She was the accompanist at several churches in the community over her lifetime and loved so much being a part of glorifying the Lord through the talents given to her. Nada was well known as an accomplished harpist performing for weddings and a variety of other events over the last 30 years. In addition to her talents as a musician, she enjoyed painting on canvas and at one time was engaged in pottery work. Nada also supported and assisted Gene in his successful career in law over many decades.
Nada had deep affection for animals, especially her cats. Over the years she had Smoky, her dog, a variety of cats and even peacocks. She was a loyal friend to many and possessed a very kind and gentle spirit which was her trademark.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene C. Tullos; son, Larry Joe Currie; father, James Eudell Craft; mother, A. Marie Sullivan Craft; sister-in-law, Nita Jo Craft.
She is survived by her brother, James “Sonny” Craft; nephew, James “Jimmy” Craft, Jr. (Pam); nieces, Pamela Anne Craft Wilgus and Sheila Marie Craft; and a host of other family and friends. Nada will be missed by all the many who were privileged to be loved by her. A special word of thanks to Theresa Bray who has been her caregiver and friend for almost a decade now.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am at the graveside at North Raleigh Cemetery, Hwy 35, Raleigh, MS, with a service immediately following. Rev. Sincere condolences to all who knew Nada, for this loss.
Nada Jo was my mother n law. I married Larry Joe, her son in 1974 and lived with her and Larry for a while. She was always gracious and kind. After divorcing Larry Joe I stayed in touch with Nada. We talked even after Larry Joe passed away. I had been told that she had learned to play the harp wonderfully and performed at various functions. I’m sorry she has passed. I have pictures of Nada at my wedding and she still looks like the same gracious lady that I knew then. Rest in peace Nada Jo.
