The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Isaiah 54:10: “‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.” The prophet of old again and again delivered God’s message to His chosen, assuring them that He would never leave them nor forsake them. They, however, failed time and time again to live up to their part of the covenant God had established with them. They had promised to follow God faithfully and carry out His precepts, having nothing to do with false idols. God is a jealous God, however, and disobedience carries with it punishment. We, as Christians, must remember that as we journey through this earthly life. Repentance is essential for the Christian to please God. We are to study His Word, keep an active prayer life, and thereby honor our end of the covenant we entered into at the time we accepted God as our Lord and Savior. “Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. Every day with Jesus, I love Him more and more. Jesus saves and keeps me, and He’s the one I’m living for. Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.” Yes, indeed!
Happy Monday!
