Much of my life has been shaped by caring for others—at the bedside, through my faith, and in service to my community. Those experiences are why I am stepping forward to serve in a new way.
My name is Melissa C. Sullivan, and I am running to represent District 77 in the Mississippi House of Representatives. I want to bring the same compassion, commitment, and sense of responsibility that have guided my work to the task of representing you.
My years as a respiratory therapist and my work in rural healthcare have given me experience in both direct patient care and leadership—managing budgets, coordinating staffing and schedules, and making decisions that affect patients and those who care for them. Together with my nonprofit community work, these experiences have taught me to listen carefully, use resources responsibly, and remember the people behind every decision.
My Christian faith is at the heart of my commitment to serve. It calls me to love my neighbor, act with compassion, and approach responsibility with humility. I do not claim to have every answer, but I believe we find better answers when we listen to one another and work together.
Throughout this campaign, I have been grateful for everyone who has shared their hopes, concerns, and prayers with me. Those conversations have deepened my determination to serve with honesty, care, and a willingness to do the hard work.
I am running because the people who call District 77 home deserve a representative who will listen, show up, and take their concerns seriously. I will bring my experience, my work ethic, and my heart for service to that responsibility.
As you consider your choice on November 3, I humbly ask for your support and your vote. It would be an honor to serve you.
