Mary Lynn Byrd Lowery
(December 28, 1941 – March 19, 2023)

Mary Lynn Byrd Lowery, 81 of Mize, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Landmark of Collins in Collins, Mississippi. She was born Sunday, December 28, 1941, in Mize, Mississippi.

Mrs. Lynn was of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend.  She was a big Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to his music.  She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, working in the garden with her parents, and most of all spending time with her family.  She was a previous member of the Mize Volunteer Fire Department.  She loved spending time with her husband “Doc” talking on their CB Radio. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin “Doc” Lowery; father, Jeff Byrd; mother, Earnestine Meadows Byrd; brother-in-law’s, Major Combs and Jimmy Corley; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Ricketson.

Survivors include her three children, Vicky Lowery Adams (Chris) of Mize, MS, Angie Lowery Smith (Craig) of Collins, MS, and Bryan Lowery (Brandie) of Terry, MS; five grandchildren, Keeana Koenig (Bill) of Oxford, MS, Kara Lowe of Hattiesburg, MS, Layken Sistrunk (Dillan) of Magee, MS, Shelby Blackledge (Ben) of Fort Carson, Colorado and Danbry Lowery of Terry, MS; two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Sistrunk of Magee, MS and Mary Aiken Koenig of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Sally Byrd Combs of Florence, MS and Sandra Kay Byrd Corley of Mize, MS; one brother-in-law, Joe Ricketson of Bay Springs, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews (known as Aunt Noo) and cousins (known as Lou).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Mize Cemetery in Mize, Mississippi. Bro. Ronnie Purser will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Pallbearers will be Terry Corley, Gary Lee Ricketson, Phillip Ricketson, Kenneth Ricketson, Bill Koenig, and Ricky Lowery.

Honorary pallbearer will be Don Johnson.
