Mark Wayne Blakeney, 66, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his home. He was born Thursday, January 28, 1954, in Laurel, Mississippi.
Graveside Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Glenn McElhenny will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564
In his early years, he was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and later in life started attending Grace Covenant Church in Ellisville, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed eating good food, cooking, and raising animals. He was a 1973 graduate of Taylorsville High School and a 1975 graduate of Jones County Junior College with an Associate Degree in Animal Husbandry. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.W. Blakeney and Tommie Jean Ainsworth Blakeney.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-one years, Sandra Blakeney of Ellisville; one daughter, Marla Blakeney of Wilkesboro, NC; two grandchildren, Cherish Boney and Elijah Boney both Wilkesboro, NC; two brothers, Mitchell Blakeney and wife, Cathy of Lucedale, and Bruce Blakeney of Taylorsville; two sisters, Carol Blakeney Ingram and husband, Harrol of Hattiesburg, and Marian Blakeney Hough and husband, Bobby of Byram; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
