Parks and Recreation Director Susan Mangum doesn’t just talk about making things better at the Magee Sportsplex—she puts the brush to the problem!

Right now, the softball press box is getting a much-needed freshening up. Before the new paint goes on, the room will first need a coat of KILZ primer to seal and prepare the walls.

Helping Susan with the project is Alderwoman Lawana Thompson, and the plans don’t stop with just one press box. The goal is to eventually paint all of the press boxes at the Sportsplex.

This is the kind of work that may not always get noticed at first, but little improvements make a big difference in how our parks look and feel.

Want to lend a hand? Susan would love the help!

Call 601-382-2526 to set up a time and place.

A little paint, a little elbow grease, and a lot of community pride can go a long way!
