The Mississippi Red Sox 8U Travel softball team from Magee had a Saturday to remember!
The young ladies traveled to Friendship Park in Picayune on October 24, 2026, where they went undefeated and captured the championship in the Grand Slam one-day softball tournament!
These girls have worked hard all season, and their determination is paying off! With a season record of 7-9 heading into the tournament, the Red Sox showed just how much they have grown as a team.
What makes their success even more special is that this is the first year these girls have played together. Learning to work as a team takes time, patience, and plenty of practice, but these young athletes are proving they have what it takes!
Under the leadership of Coach Q, the Mississippi Red Sox battled their way to the top, finishing ahead of tournament runner-up Gulf Coast Velocity.
There’s something special about watching young athletes develop friendships, learn teamwork, and discover what they can accomplish when they work together.
Congratulations to Coach Q and the entire Mississippi Red Sox team! You have made Magee proud!
Keep swinging those bats, girls! The future looks bright for these young softball players!
