The Magee Lions Club welcomed Roy Logan, a Foster Parent Recruiter with the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services (MDCPS), as the guest speaker during its regular meeting.
Sponsored by Lion Pat Brown, Logan shared the growing need for foster families throughout Mississippi, with a special focus on Simpson and Smith counties, where he serves as a recruiter.
According to Logan, approximately 21 children in Simpson County are currently in foster care, while more than 4,000 children statewide are in the care of the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services. His message highlighted the ongoing need for caring individuals and families who are willing to provide safe, stable, and loving homes for children during difficult times.
Logan explained that becoming a foster parent can make a lasting difference in the life of a child. He also encouraged those who may be interested in adoption to consider opening their hearts and homes to children in foster care.
