MAGEE, Miss. — May 20, 2026— Magee General Hospital joined health care organizations across the nation last week in celebrating National Hospital Week, observed Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 16. As part of the celebration, the hospital proudly recognized its 2025 Employee of the Year.
“51 weeks out of the year, while we are caring for patients, we are focusing on and celebrating all of the outcomes, results and goodness we can bring to them; then one week out of the year, we keep that mission up and add a celebration of each other,” Chief Operating Officer – Partner Hospitals Alania Cedillo, PharmD, FACHE, said. “It is a privilege to recognize our employees this week, and the outstanding people at Magee make that especially easy.”
Throughout the year, any employee can nominate a peer to be recognized as Employee of the Quarter. One of the four previously recognized Employees of the Quarter winners is chosen by the MGH nomination committee to be Employee of the Year.
The following employees were eligible for Employee of the Year:
  • Christina Breazeale, RN- Inpatient Nursing
  • Stephanie Brown, Surgery Tech – Operating Room
  • Kimberly Flynt-Lester, RN, BSN – Quality, Infection Prevention and Employee Health
  • Hanna Jones, Registrar- Sleep Center
This year’s selection was the closest in recent history, but ultimately, Kimberly Flynt-Lester, RN, BSN, Quality and Infection Prevention Coordinator, was chosen as the 2025 Employee of the Year. Flynt-Lester joined Magee General Hospital in 2021 as a med‑surg nurse and has continued to advance her impact across the organization.
“Throughout the past year, Kimberly has worked incredibly hard, stayed positive through the ups and downs and yes, even through Epic go-live,” MGH Director of Nursing Susan Jenkins said. “She has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence. Whether facing challenges or opportunities, she has shown resilience, professionalism and a positive attitude that inspires those around her.”
Kimberly was originally nominated for Employee of the Quarter by various members of nursing management, who raved about her work ethic and authenticity.
“Receiving this accolade is a little overwhelming, and it is certainly an honor,” Kimberly Flynt-Lester, RN, BSN, said. “It is truly an honor to be part of the family here at Magee.”
Magee General Hospital is proud to celebrate the exceptional care their employees provide for patients in the area.
