January 20, 1950- October 27, 2023
Larry Benjamin “Ben” Purvis, 73 of Raleigh, MS passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home on October 27, 2023. Ben was born January 20, 1950 in Raleigh, MS, son of the late Flora and Burl Purvis.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Burial will follow in Merchant Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Bo Norris and Bro. Randy Ivy will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Flora Purvis; sister, Charlie Mae Hannah; brother, Billy Ray Purvis; sisters, Lucille Richardson, Linda Nowell and Peggy Johns.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sarah Catherine Purvis, his brother Jim Purvis and his wife Janet Purvis, his two daughters, Wendy Morrow and her husband Chuck Morrow and Jennifer Mackey and her husband Jim Mackey; his two stepchildren, Lynn Thompson and Bo Norris and his wife Mary Norris; also grandchildren, Wesley Sullivan, Jacob Norris, Reagan Norris, Delane Purser, Jozie Mackey, Brooke Norris and Whitney Hiles; as well as 12 great grandchildren and Honorable Mention Michael Jordan; and host of nieces, nephews, and friends, and other family members.
