John Lee Parker, 66, of Magee, Mississippi, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Covington County Hospital in Collins, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, December 23, 1954, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi, and on Friday, March 12, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery. Bro. Chris Garcia and Bro. Glynn Pope will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mr. John was a member of Magee Congregational Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He worked for Magnetek for twenty-four years and then Georgia Pacific for twenty-one years. After retirement, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his loving family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Parker and Hazel Hall Parker; one sister, Julia Rose Parker.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-six years, Linda Keen Parker of Magee; two sons, Mark Parker and wife, Misty, of Magee, and Scott Parker and wife, Jacqueline, of Metairie, LA; four grandchildren, Madi Parker, Maci Parker, Marli Parker, and Micah Parker; one twin sister, Jane Parker Carr and husband, David, of Quitman; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Keen, Richard Harper, Jimmy Hanna, Jesse Mills, Kevin Runnels, and Andy Parish. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Sharbrough and Micah Parker.
